hhmf ! that means im out shopping with the rolling pin then . :-( tar for the info glyn . Perhaps you should start a thread on what we all get up to on a Saturday afternoon when the footie's off. For example, tomorrow, I shall now be baking cakes as we are visiting our grandaughter for her 5th birthday party on Sunday! Well actually, I shall be sinking a glass or two while my loveley wife does the cooking!!

You're very lucky.Don't see many rare birds here! Once had some Fieldfares in my garden(about 3 winters ago) but that's about it!

I see a cracking pair of tits on the feeders this morning, and some gold finches have been in lately too. Will this thread escape moderation? Most interesting thing on here since the winter weather kicked in!!

Most interesting thing on here since the winter weather kicked in!! As this post seems to be irrelevant and going nowhere I thought I would mention that i went to Frankie & Bennys in Basildon today and it was rubbish. If you are planning to go there,I would suggest that you take your own packed lunch and a flask.

I c welchandmahoney showed up on the mention of tits!probably what he went looking for at F and B's and found none which is why he's so bitter! And, Steve, I think most twitchers do take their packed lunch and a flask!

Sir Stanley. We get all the usual suspects(not woodpecker though) but every year when big Birdwatch weekend comes round, they all disappear! Mind you, the bloody Magpies(8/10 of them) in the big field maple behind us scare most birds away!

When I'm down in Essex I always look around for rare birds. The Virgin is an interesting species ! Very much a dying breed !
