Found his level - Ryman Prem - Conference South - maybe with Dulwich.
When he was at Grays and his agent got him trials at Bournemouth and Ipswich and persuaded West Ham to look at him, I thought, no way. You have to be OUTSTANDING at our level to have a chance at Div Two level, let alone Championship/Premier League.
Players will get bad advice - normally for someone who has a vested - normally financial - interest - i.e agent.
Poor Nathan Ferguson has suffered the same fate.
Easy to be wise now, but I hope our current crop of “promising” players will not be unduly influenced by the chase of the quick pound. Sometimes a recognition of one’s limitations is a salutary lesson. Non League journeyman who also have a job outside football often have the most successful overall careers.

Always remember David platt who at the time was spurs manager turning up at the rec and being impressed with billy goldstone and wondering how he got though the scouting net .If he had a agent he MIGHT have got further
