Been looking at other clubs' programmes of the digital ("e") variety and had a good chat with Canvey about theirs.
Many clubs seem to view it as a more cost-effective way of getting information to fans.
I appreciate we could get to a much wider audience if we followed the trend.
We won't - yet!
We may be unusual, in that we actually make a very decent surplus on our programme to support the other running costs of our club. The excellent response from our advertisers means that the cost of the glossy pages is more than covered by our generous advertisers.
On match days, after making a few programmes available to the boardroom and match officials (a League requirement), we sell more than enough to supporters to turn another surplus after printing costs, to help out with other running costs.
If we are unusual compared to other clubs, I can only say it's good that we have an excellent printer, MK Publications, who helps design and set out the programme and charge a reasonable price for printing it.
I think I may also say - without bragging too much! - that our programme is well received by those who buy it, based on comments made by supporters. This is due to the sterling efforts of the editorial team.
I hope we can continue the service provided. It all depends on the supporters doing what you do best!
SUPPORT OUR CLUB IN WHATEVER WAY YOU CAN!

Agree with Midland Blue on this. It doesn’t need to be a case of either or. It can be both. And the club could charge a small fee for reading online / downloading after the match. Could also be a season long one off fee for receiving each programme after the event too.
