We have won the North Division POM Trophy for our 5-2 win over Heybridge Swifts in the FA Cup on 24 August.
Huge congratulations to the players and management for the award.
With grateful thanks to the League sponsors of the award - Supreme Trophies and Engraving.

weird that the league give an award for a match that wasnt played in one of there competitions Point taken, but it was from a club in the North Division and it was against the club that won last season's North play-off final, even though they weren't promoted (ouch, from them - understandably!) and it was a 5-2 result in our favour - if a bit flattering.

Our away game against them last week in the league was won by the best goal I've ever seen from a Grays player and a classic Carlos steal. I don't need glasses these days - rose-tinted or otherwise. I'm delighted you are proud of our team. So am I! Over the course of this season, I hope we have many more good days and not the "long suffering" ones, of which we all saw too many in the previous three seasons.

Our away game against them last week in the league was won by the best goal I've ever seen from a Grays player..... That is a very big statement coming from anyone, but especially from a man such as yourself with decades of Blues following to fall back on ! It was a wonderful goal, dont get me wrong, but the best ? Its a matter of personal opinion I know. Dare I say it,didnt Nicky Crown get a good goal or two ?!

Nicky got a few good goals none from 35 yards though Sadly lasting thought of Nicky was when he kicked the corner flag post instead of the Ball .....thanks for those memories

Its a matter of personal opinion I know. Dare I say it,didnt Nicky Crown get a good goal or two ?! I've seen many, many good goals that we've scored in the sixty one years (this month) since I saw my first game. Lots of outstanding ones and then there are the ones that were just so sublime, for different reasons, they live in the memory. Nicky's winner against Bishop's Stortford in the mud and rain, Micky Welch against Marlow at the Rec and in the Vase against Burnham, Kights at Rushden & Diamonds......... Mitch Hahn's winner at Sudbury last season, which he has said was better than last week's at Heybridge, was another absolute classic. Somehow, though for me, it tends to be the goals that turn, change or actually win games that really stand out. I would probably have to go through Chris Turner stats spreadsheet to identify a longer list. It's all about opinions which makes the game so wonderful. I know there is dear Nipper Norman's expression about being cheerful in defeat and modest in victory. I do try, but there isn't a better feeling than travelling home after a win!

Does it follow that one of the best I've ever seen (the Wayne Burnett 40 yard lob, that ultimately proved insignificant in match result terms v Maidenhead 1-4) has been erased from your memory ?! I'll always remember walking out after the game thinking ''I don't really care that we lost,I know I've seen one of the best Grays Ath goals I'm likely to see''. (''I don't really care that we lost'' That has proven to be a one-off feeling !)
