Come on Crowny!
You're an experienced and knowledgeable non league guy.
Over many, many years - OK, I know I'm the old stager, but I think I've seen it all through that time - players have come and gone for varying reasons.
Some weren't good enough and moved on. Some were too good and moved on. Some thought they were too good, moved on and regretted it. A few chased a pound note (I do still miss the soft rustle of those).
i have always accepted that a player is entitled to do what he can for himself. It's human nature and I respect that.
We move on, do the best we can within our resources, and hope that you good folks who pay to watch us continue to do so in increasing numbers.
We rely SO much on the gate income and the peripheral money from the raffle, programme, 12th man, community draw, match day financial donations, player kit donations, etc.
Numbers in all those areas have been better than last season and that's great.
We don't have the other sources of funding that other clubs enjoy through having their own facilities, so we need to earn as much as we can from within.
Keep supporting us and we will thrive.

You old charmer you !
I'm pleased to hear that the match numbers are up on last season, that is very important. The volunteer's really do a fantastic job.
Yes,and I agree a player is free to choose to play for whoever he likes. I think ideally any manager would like a settled team of course, but its still fascinating to observe how the side has evolved over the first quarter of the season: Clarky has come in Manny got a contract Stokesy injured Callander + Purcell come in Bartley + Foxy leave
Whats next ? A replacement for Foxy I would guess.
Oh,and the chance to go ''top, top, top of the league'' on Saturday. Cant wait

maybe he lives nearer cambridge ? do you know for sure hes got a pay rise ? with the likes of purcell calendar and clarke coming in im sure people are questioning our playing budget He lives in Chelmsford. Better journey for him and a significant rise. Good luck to him. A good player and a really nice guy. He moves on, so do we. If you read our recent Bedfont programme, or indeed attend and buy one, you can see Jim comments in his "From the Dug Out" article here: 'On the player front, we have recently brought in Luke Callander from Bishop’s Stortford. His goal scoring record is fantastic and if we manage to bring in our second target this week, another player with bags of Isthmian Premier Division experience, it shows the intent of the club to achieve what we all want this season – promotion. Both players have taken a significant drop in expenses to join us, as they want to play in this side and play the brand of football which has served us so well so far.....'
The second player, as we now know is George Purcell. SOME players prefer to play in an environment where they feel comfortable and their level of expenses MAY not be as important as enjoying their football.
