Firstly a belated happy New year to all of our fans, volunteers, board and players. It has already been a month since I last updated you and felt it was only right to keep you up to speed.
On the injury front Ash Miller is still several weeks away with ankle ligament damage and stokesey even though is now back we are taking care with his knee as his recovery has been remarkably but have to take care with this. Everyone else now seems to be ok we did have a bug go through the camp over Christmas but that also fingers crossed has gone too.
On the playing front to say it has been a disappointment is an understatement and will not make any excuses for losing games when we had players away, Ill or injured as that should inspire others to take there opportunity and unfortunately this has not been the case.
We have had to have a real tough reality check chat with the players, about the desire, effort and passion not shown in these games and they have listened and showed a response last Saturday.
This however is only one game when we had 4 previous poor performances so a lot more hard work is still needed if we are t stay in touch of the play off group.
As well as the players myself and Jim have had a hard look at what we had been doing in terms of tactics, shape and Balance with the team and have had a lot of positive conversations with the boys to get things back on track.
we felt we had come away from our philosophy of a passing game and that had not helped us but realise some pitches are not conducive to that and have to be able to develop better to these conditions and improve quickly, which we have worked on with the lads.
we now enter an important phase of games and will strive to build on Saturdays result and move forward.
Thanks again for your support and feedback over recent weeks it is really appreciated and to have the gates we have been getting is a tribute to everyone trying to get grays back where it belongs thanks joyno
