Wow! David what a run a games you are choosing - much appreciated.
As you said, this was only just after Exeter had matched Man U in one game in the 0-0 draw in front of nearly 68,000 at Old Trafford and only lost two-nil in the replay at St James Park - over £500K richer for it!
I know we all have our favourite games and I've seen so many over the last 62 years. This was DEFINITELY one of them. Gary Hooper - what a young emerging star, Dennis Oli - on the way towards a good pro career and Stuart Thurgood - the leader on the pitch, whose career was sadly diminished after the bad injury against Leyton Orient in a pre-season friendly.
Great, great memories that no-one can take away from us.
If the next game is the one I think it's going to be..........................hold on to your hats everyone and prepare to be blown away - just like the opposition and their disappointed manager were that day!!

Yipee!
Looking forward to that 2005-06 season, too.
What a finale to that one! I'm forever blowing bubbles, or at least I was until the Rush Green debacle a few years later. I will never forgiver their skulduggery over that!
All that blooming paint I put on that post and rail fence around the pitch, even if a lot of it ended up on my trousers, shirt, shoes, etc.
