What a game!
Ryan Goad's comments were very interesting.
I remember at the time that the "new" Grays supporters who suddenly started watching us because we were successful, were just beginning to "turn". A few indifferent performances and we became a poor team in their eyes. Stimmo was not happy!
For what it's worth, my view was that teams were beginning to get to grips with how we played and battled against us with a very physical approach, especially Dagenham in the two Trophy games.
This was football at the top of the non league pyramid and we were still the young upstarts.
It was great while it lasted and it lasted to the FA Trophy final and the Conference play offs.
It wasn't sustainable and it petered out when the resources to fund a Conference team dried up.
The history books do not lie.
