Good morning all – just wanted to share my thoughts regarding the current no spectator rules that all non-league clubs (from steps 1-7) are working within. I share the many frustrations that have been aired on our supporter’s chat/forum/social media and although the #LetFansIn campaign has been gathering momentum, there seems little chance of a change to the rules in the short term. One would hope that with the FA Cup still scheduled to start on 1st September, fans could be introduced then (obviously subject to certain percentages and risk assessment plans being adhered to), as many clubs will struggle to meet the costs of those ties without paying spectators.
We have five home friendlies planned:-
22nd Aug Enfield 24th Aug Hashtag 2nd Sept Billericay 5th Sept Tilbury 9th Sept Kingstonian
Unless there are changes to the rules, all of these games will be behind closed doors with each club only being allowed to have essential officials at pitchside. We have spoken to Aveley FC and the bar will be open for those games with a capacity of 30 people (15 upstairs and 15 downstairs), therefore we are going to work our risk assessment plan on this basis.
Obviously, many people won’t want to watch games in these circumstances, however, for those that do, we will shortly advise you how you can register your interest in obtaining a pass for one of the above games.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone connected within all sections of the club that have been working hard in the planning for the new season – with so much uncertainty prevalent, it has not been an easy task. Additionally, my appreciation goes to everybody that has helped the club financially during the summer with fund raising via memberships, community shares, monthly draw tickets, company sponsorships, 12th man pledges etc – your support will ensure that we get through this difficult time together.
Best regards Steve

Further to my message yesterday, whilst we wait for news regarding the return of spectators to non-league football (with fingers crossed that it happens soon), the club will press on with giving some of our supporters the opportunity of watching our friendly matches from the bar at Parkside.
Due to the limited number of passes available, I am sure that everyone recognises that this is a difficult task, however, we will look to do this as fairly as possible. In the first instance, to gauge the level of interest, we would ask supporters to send an email to the following address – ticketing.gafc@hotmail.com noting the fixtures that they are able to attend from the five home friendlies scheduled and a contact phone number.
As a thank you for their efforts last season, our intention is to give our matchday volunteers priority for the first couple of fixtures, however, as a number of these can be classed as officials, there will still be additional passes available.
Please note that anyone attending these fixtures will be expected to follow the rules outlined in the Aveley FC/Grays Athletic FC risk assessment plan which is being finalised and will be on our website in the next couple of days.
The club will be looking to provide coverage of the games with highlights, post match interviews and match reports.

I am happy for Danny or Audrey or any other fan to have the chance of a pass ticket . I will be back when full opening happens. Or collecting a load of Merchandise I've just ordered.

Not yet we're not, still waiting on guidance from the FA and the league.
As soon as I get clearance from the FA and the league we will let you know the procedure for the return to football.
Fingers crossed it will be soon.

It's going to be difficult to police only allowing 200 in, and I'm sure behind the scenes we are looking at the best way to do it but what about paying at the gate? Most places and people and choosing to go cashless but it's probably not practical to have a card reader on the gate so, is it possible we could pay by bank transfer? You could issue a code unique to each game and we could show the transaction on our phones at the turnstile.

I understand from speaking to Craig Johnson that it is difficult to get a connection on a contactless card payment machine from within the turnstile kiosk. Therefore it is something we are still looking into. If anyone wishes to pay by bank transfer on Saturday, please speak to one of the stewards at the turnstiles.
