Just a quick message to you all to update you on what is happening around the squad and pre season games.
last night’s result was obviously not what anyone would want to see but it was only 2-0 up until the 75th minute. We were backs to the wall for most of that time but up until that point I was very happy with the way we defended against a team that we will not face at our level all season so there were some big positives for me to take away from the game. We then made numerous changes bringing on a seventeen year old and two 18 year olds who complemented the other two 17 year olds who had been playing at some point in the game.
It was not only the result which was a bad point, sadly Nathan Fox came off injured and is currently on his way to the A&E with what maybe a serious knee injury. He would be a major loss to the side if this is the case so we can only hope it’s not as bad as we first feared. Wishing you well mate.
D’Quarme Copeland is an excellent signing for us but he is also returning from a long term injury which flared up at the beginning of the game last night and so he was also withdrawn at half time. We may have to be careful with the amount of game time he gets between now and the season start.
Luke Hirst has stretched his knee ligaments and received bruising on the knee bone. This was from the Hashtag game when he came off early. He should be ok to start playing after the FA Cup game next weekend so will be available for Selection for the start of the league season.
Darelle played last night which was good as he has looked sharp and has forged a good relationship with Stokesy. His ankle still needs some treatment but should be ok moving forward.
Thompson Adeyemi has a calf strain but should be back soon also. We’ve been very impressed with him in the games he has played. He needs a run of fixtures and training to get his fitness levels up so that he can challenge for a regular spot.
Ashley Miller will return to training next week. He has been too busy with work during the lockdown. This may not be a bad thing as he is totally injury free and when he returns to match fitness, he will be an excellent addition to the team.
So as you can see, we have a few injuries to contend with at the moment but thats football. We have a massive game on Saturday against Tilbury and we will put out the best team we can based on fitness levels and injuries. Joyno and I are also still looking to bring in a couple more players if possible to strengthen the team before the season starts and we have a couple in mind.
finally, thank you for your continued support.
